Registration Program: Essential Services

1.    Flights carrying medical personnel, technicians, media and others that must transport prohibited items on board an aircraft are designated as Emergency Response (ER) or Essential Service (ES) flights. Time-critical/life-saving flights will receive higher priority than non-critical missions.

2.    ER/ES providers must register their personnel prior to restricted airspace activation. Except for MedEvac patients, non-registered individuals will not be permitted to board an ER/ES aircraft. This will permit the use of the abbreviated Flight Authorization process, and allow personnel to bypass CATSA screening.

3.    Carriage of non-registered passengers will delay the flight significantly, as it will necessitate landing and screening at a designated CATSA screening facility prior to entering the OCA.

4.    IRC are to be used on Essential Service Flight manifests to expedite processing. Personal data is not to be entered.

5.    ER and ES flights will submit FA requests through an abbreviated process. Links, UserID and Passwords will be emailed to the applicable agencies.
