Commercial Passenger Flights
IATA carriers who meet internationally-accepted security screening and locking-cockpit-door operating requirements are exempt from Registration and Flight Authorization.
Charter and Corporate Flights
Unless an exemption is requested by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) and approved by Transport Canada Security and Emergency Preparedness (TCSEP), all other international flights must stop at a designated Portal facility and be screened prior to entering OCA airspace.
State Aircraft
Aircraft that have been exempted through the process indicated above will receive a Flight Authorization code from DFAIT. It must be entered in the remarks section of the ICAO flight plan as:
RFA/[FACode] (without brackets or spaces).
