Flight Authorization Program

FA Requests from Private Operators

Private operators (GA) will not normally be granted access to the OCA unless a specific operational need exists. Flight Authorization requests may be approved, however, for owners/operators of aircraft that are normally parked at a facility located within the OCA who need to leave restricted airspace or return home.

1.  Aircraft owners/operators must submit the personal information necessary to complete the registration process, including information release permissions. and may be required to present themselves and their passengers to a POJ facility to accomplish this task.

2.  R&FA will issue an IRC for each approved individual, which will be valid for the duration of the restricted airspace activation period.

3.  An FA request must be completed and submitted to R&FA for any proposed flight into or out of the OCA.

4.  R&FA will coordinate the requested exit or entry routing with ISU Aviation Security Operations and approve a departure/arrival window as close as possible to the departure/arrival time requested.

5.  The aircraft operator and passengers must present themselves to a designated CATSA screening facility prior to departure outbound or inbound, and submit to an aircraft search by Police of Jurisdiction (POJ) concurrent with individual and baggage screening by CATSA personnel.

6.  Operators must adhere to all flight planning, operating and communications restrictions contained in AIP and NOTAM.

7.  FA codes will only be issued to outbound or inbound flights, and OCA-prohibited activities published in AIP must be avoided.

8.  Round-robin flights are not authorized.
